Pure backend candidates won’t be a fit: the team needs engineers who can flex across the stack as priorities shift and who can demonstrate real front-end experience plus strong aptitude.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nPerform hands-on design, coding, testing, and support of complex enterprise applications at scale\nHelp migrate and modernize Java REST services from on-prem to AWS EKS\nBuild and maintain Java web services and integration layers between UI and data sources\nContribute to the Angular front end as needed (this is not a UI-only role, but UI contribution is required)\nWork with databases including MongoDB and Aurora PostgreSQL (similar enterprise DB experience is acceptable)\nImplement and execute automated testing and quality practices (including Playwright)\nSupport CI/CD, code quality, and DevOps-aligned delivery standards\nProvide production support, troubleshoot critical issues, and drive continuous improvement\nParticipate in scoping/architecture conversations and mentor junior engineers as needed\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree)\n5+ years of software engineering experience across the SDLC (requirements, design, build, test, and support)\nFull stack experience with a backend-heavy focus (70/30 backend/frontend)\nJava 17+ required (environment currently using Java 21)\nAngular 17+ required (currently on Angular 18, targeting newer versions)\nAWS is a hard requirement, including multiple years deploying and managing EKS\nExperience migrating/replatforming services from on-prem to AWS\nStrong experience with modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, agile delivery, and code quality standards\nNICE TO HAVE\nAWS certifications (especially AWS Developer or AWS Solutions Architect) — “highly preferable”\nExperience with AWS AI/coding assistants (e.g., Amazon Q, Kiro) and an AI-first engineering mindset\nSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
