The Senior Electrical Engineer will take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to lead a design effort as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team.\nThe position is in the Federal Buildings Group and the project type is majority industrial. The codes used include IBC, ABA, and Government Requirements. The position is hybrid with a minimum office attendance of two days per week in the Irvine office.\nResponsibilities Work in a fast‑paced environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards\nAct as the DOR for electrical design projects including schedule, budget, delegation of work to junior staff, quality control and stamping drawings when required\nPrepare complete drawings and specifications detailing the Electrical System designed\nPrepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials\nGather information, interview stakeholders, make studies, perform calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches as required\nPerform high level tasks under minimal supervision using well‑defined standards, procedures and codes\nCoordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects\nPerform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research\nDesign new electrical distribution systems or modifications to existing electrical systems to develop or improve them\nPrepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms\nPerform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including document management and processing RFI's and Change Orders\nEstablish project design standards and requirements as applicable for each project\nSupervise design staff to maintain quality and technical content through the life of each project\nProvide staffing development and mentoring for junior staff\nParticipate in internal and external meetings and document discussions\nProvide project quality control reviews at project milestones and continuous over the shoulder discipline checks\nSelect equipment and lighting fixtures for interior and exterior applications\nDesign and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls\nPrepare load analysis for different stages of design\nQualifications U.S. Citizenship is required\nCandidate is fluent in written and spoken English, required\nBachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required\n8+ years' Electrical design experience is required\nCandidates must be a P.E.\nAbility to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing is required\nExtensive knowledge of electrical building systems is required\nKnowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines is required\nSelf‑motivated personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio or remote environment\nAbility to work in a multi‑discipline team environment\nAbility to effectively meet deadlines\nOverseas travel may be required\nProficiency in REVIT\nProficiency in AGI 32 Lighting Analysis, SKM Power Tools for Windows, Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel\nIndustrial, Aerospace, Airport, and Laboratory experience is preferred\nExperience in data center, power, UPS systems, generator systems and medium voltage distribution projects is preferred\nPrevious DoD experience, basic competency with Federal energy standards, Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) and other Government requirements is preferred\nExperience in lightning protection, security, and fire alarm system design is preferred\nBenefits Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
