DescriptionClass B DriverJob Type: Full-Time (On-site) Location: Romulus, MISalary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hourPosition SummaryThe CDL Class B Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods in support of station operations. This role involves operating Class B commercial vehicles for local and regional deliveries, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and delivering excellent customer service.Responsibilities may be adjusted based on operational needs.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate Class B commercial vehicles (e.g., straight trucks, box trucks) for pickups and deliveriesTransport goods safely and efficiently while meeting delivery schedulesLoad and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securementPerform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentationComply with all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policiesPlan and follow efficient delivery routes using GPS and routing toolsProvide professional and courteous customer service at delivery and pickup locationsOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, and liftgates as neededMaintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehiclesReport mechanical issues, delays, accidents, or safety concerns promptlyAssist with warehouse operations as neededPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferredValid CDL Class B license requiredCurrent DOT Medical Card requiredClean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requiredFamiliarity with the Metro Detroit area preferredMust be able to pass a background checkTechnical SkillsAbility to safely operate Class B commercial vehiclesKnowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practicesExperience with liftgate operations and freight handlingAbility to operate forklifts and pallet jacksCore CompetenciesStrong safety awareness and adherence to proceduresExcellent customer service and communication skillsReliable, punctual, and detail-orientedAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable working in a fast-paced environmentWork ScheduleMust report to work on time and ready to perform dutiesStart times may vary based on business needsParticipation in an on-call rotation may be requiredWork EnvironmentCombination of driving and warehouse environmentsExposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)Warehouse may be heated but not air-conditionedPhysical DemandsRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and armsFrequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbingAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsFrequent pushing and pulling of freightDeliveries may include stairs, liftgates, and team liftsMathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)Language SkillsAbility to read and understand instructions, delivery documents, and safety guidelinesAbility to complete basic reports and communicate effectively with team members and customersCompensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hourStarting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
