Around 1,600 vehicles are produced everyday with around 341,000 projected for 2023. They employ 6,500 people and is the largest automotive OEM in Indiana. As a Controls Engineer you will hold a variety of responsibilities. These responsibilities will predominantly support new project launches which will include bringing in new capital projects and/or retrofitting existing equipment to specification. In addition to project launches, you can expect to occasionally support the production floor if there are major issues resulting in delayed production. Monday - Thursday is often spent planning (around 80%) for new projects/improvements while Friday - Sunday is spent executing those plans (20%). Additional responsibilities are listed below:\nWill be working on optimizing processes and automation equipment for new model launches\nDesign electrical systems for machinery --- CAD packages that could be used are: AutoCAD, Solidworks, or CATIA\nElectrical schematic design\nTroubleshooting, modifying, and Programming PLC’s and HMI’s -- most of the PLC's at the site are Mitsubishi but have some Allen Bradley\nWill be working with industrial Networking systems (DeviceNet, TCP/IP, Uniwire)\nIntegration and programming of Robotic systems\nAssisting with Mechanical Systems Design: Ability to read and understand product and equipment mechanical drawings and dimensions. Solid experience troubleshooting, modifying, and specifying mechanical systems. Experience with pneumatic piping and control systems.
