The Business Coordinator will serve as a part of a non-profit organization that does work across multiple states. This position will increase the capacity of the business office team, allowing operations to expand with a growing organization. Along with business operations and administrative duties, the office also encompasses Human Relations.\r\nBusiness Operations\r\nAccounts payable support; processing employee expenses and reimbursements.\r\nSupport staff with insurance documentation as needed for Guild programs.\r\nSupport for state reporting and setting up business licenses in new states as needed.\r\nPlanning and logistical support for Guild events, including occasional large-scale events for Guild milestones such as the Guild 30th anniversary event taking place later in 2026.\r\nProcessing donations and membership payments as needed, provide reports to accountants.\r\nProvide day-to-day administrative support and communication across different regions and departments.\r\nAdditional responsibilities as assigned.\r\nHR Support\r\nStay up to date with state labor laws across multiple states where the Guild has employees and follow up with notifying employees of any changes including updating the Guild employees’ poster wall among other channels.\r\nOrientation and onboarding support as needed for incoming employees, particularly for seasonal crew members in the eastern states.\r\nWorkers’ Compensation Audit support.QualificationsThe Guild expects the Business Coordinator to possess the following educational and experiential qualifications:\r\nDegree/certificate in a related field such as business administration, non-profit management or equivalent experience (example: two years of experience get the same consideration as an associate degree; four years of experience get the same consideration as a bachelor degree).\r\nExperience collaborating across multiple departments, outside venders, and partners.\r\nExcellent communication, organizational, and administrative skillsStrong interpersonal skills, with experience supporting staff across multiple locations and departments.\r\nStrong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple and differing projects at the same time along with varying deadlines.\r\nExperience and/or willingness to learn Microsoft products (Office/365, Asana, Neon, and other tools.Commitment to the mission of the Forest Stewards Guild.\r\nMust be authorized to work in the United States.\r\nAbilities and Skills:The Guild expects the Business Coordinator to possess the following abilities and skills:\r\nAbility to work with a wide range of people with differing and sometimes conflicting opinions.\r\nAbility and willingness to travel occasionally, possibly in an outdoor setting, and maintain a flexible work schedule, including occasional participation in weekend and evening events.\r\nAbility to work well and be flexible as part of a team and autonomously.\r\nAbility to work remotely.\r\nAbility to represent the Guild in a clear and professional manner through excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.\r\nA strong attention to detail, with skill in working in a timely and well-organized fashion.\r\nA valid U.S. Driver’s License and clean driving record.Additional InformationCompensation and Benefits\r\nThe Forest Stewards Guild offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.\r\nThe starting compensation is $27.50 - $30.00 hourly depending on experience with the ability to advance based on performance outcomes over time assessed annually.\r\nFull-time, non-exempt.\r\nPaid Time Off and sick leave\r\nEmployer-sponsored comprehensive health and dental care coverage paid at 80%.\r\nShort and long-term disability policies, accidental death/dismemberment, life insurance, and\r\nPaid and Unpaid Family Leave and unpaid medical leave\r\nFlexible Spending Accounts,\r\n403(b) retirement plan with a up to 5% employer match\r\nThe Guild is dedicated to providing an open, transparent, and just organization and workplace.
