The St. Louis Area Component Engineering Team seeks a Senior Skilled Project Engineer with over 10 years of experience in Obsolescence Management. The team supports production programs such as F‑22, T‑7, MQ‑25, F/A‑18, F‑15, and various weapons systems, working on legacy and future aircraft, weapons, and technologies.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nApply engineering knowledge of electrical and electronic components to evaluate alternate replacements of obsolete parts.\n\nConduct proactive obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using component monitoring and surveillance tools, predictive obsolescence systems, OEM/supplier surveys, etc.\n\nDevelop obsolescence mitigation possibilities and business case analyses supporting recommended resolution options.\n\nHelp prepare customer contractual deliverable plans and required reports.\n\nSupport project management of obsolescence mitigation processes within product/program IPTs.\n\nUnderstand aircraft and weapons design/requirements to recommend new and alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs.\n\nAssist programs in identifying and mitigating obsolescence risk.\n\nProvide engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources and customers.\n\nRespond to changes to SOW, assess impact, and negotiate proposed changes to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules.\n\nSupport proposal development and estimation, and lead project execution by identifying activities, resources, and events required to complete the work statement.\n\nPlan, identify, and coordinate resources required over the life of the project or program.\n\nDefine plans for risk mitigation and opportunity; compare actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned.\n\nProvide technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.\n\nDuration: 6+ months with possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.\n\nWhat You'll Need\n\nKnowledgeable of basic electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transformers, connectors, integrated circuits, etc.) and skilled at researching alternate components using datasheets and other online resources.\n\nStrong evidence of ability to work as part of a team within a hierarchical organization.\n\nGood writing and communication skills with a focus on attention to detail.\n\nUnderstanding of the concept of obsolete parts and evaluating alternate parts.\n\nTen (10) or more years of experience in managing obsolescence management projects.\n\nEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
