MASST Program Coordinator - Kenai/Gulf RegionPosition Title: MASST Program Coordinator - Kenai/Gulf RegionPosition Description: The Mature Alaskans Seeking Skills Training (MASST) program, part of SERRC, serves seniors in overcoming barriers to employment. The program focuses on providing essential support to help mature Alaskans gain the skills needed for successful job placement. Through collaboration with various partner agencies, promotion of program activities, client recruitment, skill assessment, and job development, the MASST program ensures that seniors receive the assistance they need to enter or re-enter the workforce.Position Description: The MASST Coordinator oversees the MASST program, ensuring effective implementation and achievement of program goals within set timeframes. Responsibilities include facilitating communication with service agencies, promoting program activities, recruiting clients, assessing their skills and needs, and providing job development and placement at host sites. The Coordinator also prepares reports and evaluations related to the project.Reports to: Associate DirectorMinimum Qualifications:H.S. Diploma or GEDBachelor's degree in Education or related field, preferredValid Alaska driver's licenseKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Skilled use of technology, including communication tools and databasesKnowledge of grant development, implementation and managementAbility to plan, implement and monitor project activitiesExperience administering education, employment, and training programsFamiliarity with local community and social service resourcesPosition Duties and Responsibilities:Promote program services and recruit clients and host sitesAssess participant eligibility, skills, education and training needsDevelop participant Individual Employment PlansAssist clients with job development, placement, and retention assistanceMatch clients with appropriate host sites and job placementsCollect and maintain confidential client dataMonitor and evaluate program activitiesPrepare program reportsIdentify training resources and support participant trainingAwareness of community resources that support seniorsPrepare promotional materials and newslettersCollaborate with state departments, and both public and private agencies to plan, promote, and execute project activities and meet client needs; andOther duties as assigned.Position Location: Kenai, Juneau, Wasilla, FairbanksWorking Hours: Part-Time, 10-15 hrs/week through May/June 2026.Fingerprints: This position may require a Criminal Justice Fingerprint and Background check.Benefits: SERRC offers an excellent benefits package, including State of Alaska retirement plan (TRS/PERS), health benefits, and sick and annual/personal leave, depending on the length of the employment contract. Employees who work 173 days or more during the contract year are eligible for full-time benefits. Employees who work between 115 and 172 days are eligible for pro-rated health benefits. Hourly employees who are scheduled to work 15 hours per week or less are not eligible for benefits.
