This role focuses on financial analysis, reporting, and data-driven insights to support employee benefits clients and internal stakeholders.The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing financial deliverables, analyzing claims and cost drivers, and supporting renewal and strategic decision-making processes. While this role does not include underwriting responsibilities, it is designed as a development path toward future underwriting capabilities through hands-on exposure, training, and mentorship.This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented, analytically driven professional looking to build a long-term career in employee benefits underwriting and analytics.Primary ResponsibilitiesManage and prioritize analytical workflow to ensure accurate, timely deliverables.Prepare and maintain financial dashboards for a book of business (clients typically 100–5,000 employees). Client funding arrangements may range from fully insured, level funded, and self-funded.Support core financial analyses, including:Market review analysisClaims utilization reviewContribution modelingBenchmarking studiesAssist in developing financial models and alternative plan scenarios using established tools and templatesCompile and organize data for underwriting and renewal processesSupport the preparation of client deliverables, including reports, exhibits, and presentationsPartner with underwriting team members to understand financial assumptions, methodologies, and outcomesCollaborate with internal teams (e.g., service, population health, and account management) to support client strategyMaintain data integrity across systems such as BenefitPoint, Excel models, and reporting toolsParticipate in peer review processes to ensure quality and accuracyAssist with prospect analyses and ad hoc financial requestsContinuously develop knowledge of underwriting concepts, funding arrangements, and industry trendsQualifications1-3+ years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, finance, or a related field.College degree or CEBS designation preferred.Life & Health insurance license preferred, not required.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with some oversight and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, modeling, formatting) and strong skills in Word and other MS Office tools such as PowerBI.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, with the ability to work with complex data and variables.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.Team-oriented, client-focused, and able to build effective working relationships with colleagues, carriers, and clients.Commitment to staying current on industry trends, regulations, and emerging products.CompensationThis a remote position. The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $66,700 to $82,400. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
