Commercial Underwriter

Commercial Underwriter For Sba Lending NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a regional banking organization to identify a commercial underwriter focused on SBA lending in the Dallas, TX area. This role is onsite and will support small business lending through underwriting, credit analysis, and portfolio support. This position is ideal for an experienced SBA underwriter who enjoys working on complex deals and owning the credit process from analysis through approval. The right candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally with lenders and internal teams. Required: 5+ years of direct experience underwriting SBA 7a and 504 loans Strong ability to analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow for complex transactions Deep understanding of SBA guidelines, eligibility requirements, and regulatory standards Experience in structuring deals, assessing collateral, and evaluating borrower and guarantor risk Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with lenders and internal stakeholders Preferred: Background in a commercial banking environment supporting small business lending Experience with loan modifications, servicing actions, and portfolio monitoring Formal credit training from a financial institution Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously Proficiency with financial analysis tools and standard business software NextStep Recruiting provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants regardless of race, color, or applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location where the company has facilities.
