Will conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection. Responsible for delivering commodity driven cost down through price negotiations, value analysis (VA/VE) or supplier continuous improvement. Support Supplier Relationship Management and will facilitate and lead supplier commodity reviews for strategic suppliers. Responsible for continuity of supply including actively monitoring and mitigating supplier risk.\n\nPosition Responsibilities may include;\n\nResponsible for development and execution of commodity strategies for assigned commodities.\nAccountability to provide analytical support in all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned commodities.\nMaintains ownership of supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, and will manage execution of SRM reviews.\nSupports global synergy efforts for the direct materials organization for assigned commodities.\nBuilds and supports a pipeline of cost savings projects for sustainable year over year productivity, or cost down.\nWill track and drive dual sourcing initiatives for supplier risk mitigation efforts.\nResponsible for execution and reporting of supplier contracting initiatives.\nSupports director as required on developing commodity strategy documents, and 3-5 year growth playbook plans.\nResponsible for weekly executive reporting on all financial cost down projects for assigned commodities.\nPerform additional activities/projects as needed to support the business.\n\nNature & Scope:\n\nApplies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience\nManages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision\nCoaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals\nProblems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions\n\nKnowledge & Skills:\n\nCommodity management experience\nAbility to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously\nExperience interacting with cross functional team including engineering, quality, materials, logistics, sales & marketing\nDemonstrated negotiation skills\nProject management experience\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\nHigh level of attention to detail and accuracy\nStrong analytical and quantitative abilities\nDevelops and balances both short and long term strategy\nEffective two-way communication and executive presentation skills\nProfessional business acumen\nWillingness to travel\n\nCompetency:\n\nExperience:\n\n2 + years of progressive experience in a commodity management, or strategic sourcing role preferably in a high volume manufacturing environment\n\nEducation/Certification:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field\n\nPeople Management: No\n\nPhysical Requirements / Work Environment:\n\nMust be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
