Physical Therapist Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. You will focus on treating patients with medical conditions or other issues that restrict their ability to move or engage in daily activities.
Responsibilities:
Implement specific components of care and interventions according to the care plans established by providers and physical therapists.
Effectively instruct and guide patients and caregivers in exercises.
Assess patient needs and demonstrate compassion, empathy, and care for individual differences.
Recommend treatment options or modifications to ensure patient progress, safety, and comfort.
Utilize the latest research to restore function, reduce symptom frequency, and prevent injuries.
Maintain documentation that supports the delivery of physical therapy services.
Conduct data collection to ensure accurate information is obtained.
Evaluate performance and document findings in the patient’s medical record.
Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice.
Commit to ongoing professional development and knowledge in the field.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Strong understanding of physiological best practices and standards.
Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and physical modalities.
Excellent communication and instructional skills.
Skills in healthcare administration and documentation.
Valid license to practice or relevant certification.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
Ability to lift over 40 lbs.
