Take your career to a whole new level with us and join our our culinary team.Your ResponsibilitiesCommunicates effectively with Chefs and Sous Chefs Prepares menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to department standardsMonitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areasFollow hotel break policyFollow grooming and attire guidelinesMaintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Hotel requirementsCommunicate needed work orders for maintenance repairs to ChefEnsure that each Kitchen work area is stocked with specified tools, supplies and equipment to meet the business demandAnticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of dayMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and standardsCheck kitchen printers on the line, ensuring they are in working order and there is enough paper available for the shiftWork on line during service and assist wherever neededFlexibility to work in all culinary areas within the hotelBe aware of any shortages and communicate with Chef before the item runs outFollow kitchen policies, procedures and service standardsFollow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverageFollow hotel time and attendance policyOther duties as assignedCompensation: $28.05 per hourQualificationsQualificationsAt least 2 years of experience as a cook in a fast paced, high-volume food service environment requiredBasic working knowledge of knives and knife skills.Working knowledge of kitchen equipment to include, but not limited to a slicing machine, small wares equipment.Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures.Working knowledge of weights, measures and various cooking techniques.Excellent customer service skills.Professional appearance and demeanor.Ability to speak, read and write in English.Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsAdditional InformationVisa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.Employee BenefitsJoin our team and enjoy a range of exclusive colleague perks, including complimentary upgrades, extended stays, discounted stays across Fairmont & Raffles properties, special dining and wellness discounts, and added luxuries to enhance your experience.
