Consumer Loan Processor (Clerk II)

Must be available to work Monday - Friday 8:00am to 6:00 pm and rotating Saturdays 10:00am – 3:00pm. Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Disabled/Veterans POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for funding and preparing documents needed for closing consumer loans. Mails loan paperwork, distributes loan documents to necessary destinations, types and handles miscellaneous documents and coordinates closings with store personnel. Performs quality control on consumer loan documents, as well as a variety of quality control functions. Checks loan documents and applications to ensure complete and accurate information. Coordinates with credit union staff to correct errors, locates and files/scans consumer loan documents. Provides professional service to credit union staff. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Assumes responsibility for the effective and timely performance of processing loans and assigned quality control functions. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relationships with members and external contacts. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with area personnel and management. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Required Knowledge: Basic understanding of consumer loan products and services. Experience Required: One to two years of related office experience. Skills/Abilities: Excellent phone skills and manners. Strong verbal communication skills. Able to operate related office equipment and required computer applications. Well organized and attentive to detail. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Knowledge: Knowledge of loan processing functions and related requirements and procedures. Experience Preferred: Minimum six months loan processing experience. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together. Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.) WORKING CONDITIONS No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
