The role focuses on nuclear physics with an emphasis on particle transport in electric fields and is centered around the pulsed neutron generator (PNG). Responsibilities include both experimental work and modeling to design, validate, and manufacture commercial products based on the PNG.\r\nRoles & Responsibilities\r\nProvide research and development solutions based on principles of physics and mathematical models\r\nBuild virtual and real prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing\r\nDesign testing procedures, coordinate tests, and document results\r\nConduct technical reviews of project requirements, specifications and risk analysis\r\nAssist in commercialization tasks where applicable\r\nContribute to design standards\r\nCreate and maintain product documentation\r\nMake presentations to technical, management, and client audiences as needed\r\nAuthor technical reports, papers, articles and patents\r\nShare expertise via internal knowledge sharing methods and special interest groups—build informal networks throughout the organization and with other industry experts including customers\r\nAssign, direct and review the work of technicians and junior engineers; mentor junior team members as required\r\nProvide training and support to customers and field representatives as needed\r\nMaintain familiarity with company technology, organization and business\r\nKeep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets; learn new skills and practices as required to develop products that maintain SLB's technical leadership\r\nParticipate in recruiting activities\r\nWork primarily on site in a lab environment (modest remote work flexibility is possible)\r\nQualifications\r\nPh.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related fields, with courses and preferably thesis work related to experiment, modeling, and analysis of nuclear radiation data\r\nStrong interest in testing methods and interpretation of data; thrive on the combination of experiment and computing to extract insights\r\nFluency with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar; experience with machine learning and data science is an advantage but is not required\r\nDemonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills; enthusiastic and works well in a team of scientists and engineers\r\nPosition involves access to technology and/or data subject to U.S. export control laws, including ITAR and EAR; employment is contingent upon the applicant's ability to access export-controlled information in accordance with these regulations\r\nPh.D. or equivalent\r\nEqual Opportunity Employment\r\nSLB is an equal-opportunity employer.
