Since 1957, we’ve assisted a wide array of populations throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania, focusing on those generally underserved by traditional services including senior citizens, veterans, individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, individuals on the autism spectrum, and youths who have aged out of foster care.To further our mission, we are looking for a Housing Case Manager.Job SummaryWorking with the Rapid Re-Housing and the Permanent Supportive Housing Programs, the Housing Case Manager will provide oversight of housing plans for young adults experiencing homelessness. The position is responsible for coordinating comprehensive wrap‑around services to support clients in securing and maintaining stable housing. This role also ensures effective use of supportive services that promote long‑term housing stability.Essential Functions Provide housing support for young adultsEnsure timely placement of young adults into appropriate housing in alignment with HUD requirementsConduct initial and monthly inspections in compliance with HUD standardsProvide stable and desirable housing for young adultsMeet with clients in the office and out in the communityDevelop and maintain positive relationships with clientsHelp to secure housing for program participants by visiting apartments throughout the Pittsburgh area and ensuring their cleanliness and safetyMaintain and update necessary documentation for all young adults’ files per DHS regulationsDocument casework activities and client interactions through clear, timely written case notesAssist young adults with moving into their apartments, including securing donations and purchasing essential items to furnish unitsTeach and model independent living skills Establish and maintain relationships with property managers and landlords in Allegheny County, and other service providers as needed to discharge job responsibilitiesPrepare all reports as required by funding agenciesOther duties as assignedJob Requirements And ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Social Services preferredPrior experience working with youth is requiredRequired Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrate the ability to connect meaningfully with young people from a wide range of backgroundsCommunicate clearly, respectfully, and effectivelyDemonstrate a strong and consistent commitment to the goals and values of the programWork collaboratively and contribute positively within a team environmentApproach challenges with perseverance and a solutions‑focused mindsetAdapt readily to changing needs, environments, and expectationsMaintain strong organizational habits and attention to detailExhibit empathy, compassion, and genuine care for othersWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSGeneral office environmentPhysical strength to manipulate light to medium weight materials weighing 10 to 15 pounds on a regular basisSignificant local travelOccasional evening and weekend hoursMaintain a physically and emotionally safe environmentEQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENTACTION-Housing, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
