We use our core engineering expertise to perform critical analysis of problems, utilizing value engineering, project controls, and our knowledge of facility operations to find sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions for renewable energy projects.The core values of Biogas Engineering are:Sustainable environmental stewardship.The health and safety of our clients, staff, and the communities in which we practice.Professionalism and technical excellence.The highest standards of business conduct.Practical, down-to-earth problem solving.Innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit within our staff.Job Purpose: Under general direction of the C&E Engineering Supervisor, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for focusing on the design and development of electrical systems for renewable natural gas facilities.Duties & Responsibilities:Manages all electrical aspects of assigned projects to ensure successful project deliveryDesigns and develops electrical systems for Renewable Natural Gas facilities centered around medium and low-voltage power distribution systemsResponsible for the engineering, calculations, and design of facility electrical system components such as switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, motor starters, small UPS, panel boards, feeders, and branch circuitsCreates high-quality deliverables such as Drawings and Specifications in accordance with company standardsEnsures all electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulationsCollaborates with vendors and manufacturers to select appropriate electrical equipment for projectsWorks closely with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, project managers, and drafting technicians to execute projectsProvides engineering expertise and mentoring to junior engineersAbility to travel as necessary, with the ability to obtain a Passport to travel outside the United StatesThese duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assignedSkills & QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or universityMinimum of 8 years of relevant experience in power system designLicensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)Strong understanding of codes and standards such as the NEC, NFPA70E, IEEE, UL etc.Extensive experience with power system modelling software such as ETAP, SKM PTW, or EasyPowerExtensive experience in performing electrical studies such as Coordination, Short-Circuit, Arc Flash, Harmonics, etc.Experience designing facility lightning protection systems in accordance with NFPA 780Review construction submittals, provide RFI responses, and generate document revisionsExcellent organization, communication, time management, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent 2D design softwareAbility to work independently, and collaboratively with minimal supervisionStrong understanding of motors and motor starters such as VFDsAbility to utilize experience to prepare accurate cost estimates for our customersExperience using testing equipment such as multimetersProficiency with PDF markup tools, Microsoft Word, and ExcelPreferred Qualifications:PE license in multiple statesWillingness to apply for PE license in multiple statesDirect Reports: NoneBackground Check: Employment will be dependent on the candidate successfully passing a background check.Benefits: The company offers competitive compensation based on qualifications, a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401k benefits.
