Serving clients nationwide, BTG is committed to delivering quality, performance, and long-term value across commercial, institutional, and specialized environments.Atlanta, GA | Southeast Travel Opportunities | ContractorCompetitive contractor rates based on experience, certifications, and project scopeBTG is seeking an experienced Senior Fiber Optic Technician to support carrier, enterprise, broadcast, data center, and mission-critical network infrastructure projects throughout the Atlanta metro area and Southeast region.This role is designed for a skilled fiber professional who takes pride in precision splicing, clean fiber management, advanced testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and field leadership. Our technicians support next-generation infrastructure projects, including backbone fiber builds, data center deployments, redundant ISP systems, high-density fiber distribution environments, and complex low-voltage network infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesFusion splice single-mode, multimode, and ribbon fiber systemsPerform OTDR testing, fiber characterization, troubleshooting, and documentationInstall and terminate LC, SC, ST, and MPO/MTP fiber systemsBuild, dress, and maintain high-density fiber cabinets, racks, patch panels, and fiber distribution systemsInterpret splice diagrams, fiber maps, network drawings, and engineered construction documentsSupport ISP and OSP fiber builds, including underground and aerial environmentsPerform fiber restoration, service calls, and emergency repair work as neededMaintain strict quality control, labeling, testing, and documentation standardsLead small crews and coordinate with project managers, engineers, and client representativesFollow all jobsite safety requirements and company proceduresRequired Qualifications5+ years of professional fiber optic installation experienceStrong fusion splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting skillsExperience reading splice diagrams, fiber maps, and construction drawingsAbility to work independently or serve as a crew leadStrong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanshipClean driving recordWillingness to travel for select regional projectsPreferred QualificationsCFOT – Certified Fiber Optic TechnicianCFOS/T – Fiber Optic Testing SpecialistFluke Networks OTDR testing experienceOSHA 10 or OSHA 30Data center installation experienceExperience with carrier networks, municipalities, enterprise facilities, broadcast environments, or large commercial infrastructure projectsExperience with ISP and OSP fiber buildsWhy Work With BTGBTG is a growing technology integration firm delivering advanced network infrastructure solutions for enterprise, carrier, broadcast, and mission-critical clients.
