This person will provide quality engineering support. Our employees are owners and share in the commitment to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative Analysis, Planning, & Test Solutions and services that exceed expectations, build employee pride of ownership, and optimize shareholder value.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nWork with a variety of systems such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pyros, and pneumatic.\n\nPerform inspections, surveillance, and requirement compliance while overseeing fabrication, assembly, test, and checkout of flight hardware and GSE.\n\nPerform assessments & process proofing of contractor’s operations, Quality Management System (QMS), work procedures, and operational processes to ensure products/services are produced per quality and engineering requirements.\n\nGenerate and assign Nonconformance/Corrective Action Reports (NCR, DR, CAPA, CAR).\n\nContribute to failure review activities, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective actions.\n\nProvide support for all compliance procedures and policies under the Quality Assurance Plan.\n\nRead/interpret drawings, requirements, and specifications.\n\nProvide support for the development and maintenance of Quality Management System.\n\nProvide support for internal/external auditing of Starlab suppliers.\n\nEvaluate adequacy, compliance, and effectiveness of the contractor’s QMS activities.\n\nPerform acceptance of flight hardware/GSE, receiving inspections, and review of Acceptance Data Packs.\n\nPerform Mandatory Inspection Points (MIPs), In‑Line assessments, and track associated nonconformances.\n\nIdentify quality/safety issues and potential concerns that must be documented and addressed.\n\nRequired Experience / Education\n\nEducation: BA/BS or equivalent years of experience.\n\nMinimum of 10 years of Quality Engineering/QMS experience.\n\nBackground in aerospace industry or military experience.\n\nFamiliarity with systems used on aerospace or aircraft vehicles.\n\nQuality Auditor Experience.\n\nIPC Specialist Certification (Soldered Electrical & Electronic Assemblies).\n\nNASA Workmanship STD 8739 Training:\n\nCable Harness and Crimp Inspection\n\nSurface Mount Soldering Inspection\n\nThrough‑Hole Soldering Inspection\n\nConformal Coating and Staking Inspection\n\nESD Control\n\nLithium Battery Handling\n\nFiber Optic Terminations Inspection\n\nSecurity Clearance Requirement\nMust be able to receive secret clearance if needed.\n\nPreferred Experience\n\nQuality background with experience overseeing operations associated with complex systems such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.\n\nTechnical background with aerospace industry or military work experience and familiarity with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other systems utilized on aircraft or aerospace vehicles and payloads.\n\nAbility to read/interpret drawings, requirements, and specifications.\n\nExperience with Nonconformance/Corrective Action Reports (NCR, DR, CAPA, CAR).\n\nFamiliarity with Aerospace Quality Management Systems.\n\nInternal/external supplier auditing experience.\n\nExperience monitoring and evaluating contractor processing activities.\n\nEssential Job Functions\nWork Environment: Onsite support with some remote work possible. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written.
