This role focuses on empowering clients by improving their mental health, supporting their recovery, and enhancing daily functioning. Therapists will deliver therapy, conduct assessments, and collaborate with Treatment Teams to ensure clients receive the care they need. Some work may occur in clients’ homes or community locations.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct thorough mental health assessments to determine diagnosis, treatment needs, and service eligibility.\nProvide individual therapy using evidence-based practices, including CBT and other modalities.\nMonitor client progress, update treatment goals, and adjust interventions as needed.\nDeliver crisis intervention and safety planning to reduce risk and prevent hospitalization.\nEducate clients and families on mental health conditions, symptom management, and medication importance.\nCoordinate access to needed services and community supports based on individual needs.\nParticipate in treatment planning, discharge planning, and ongoing case reviews with the clinical team.\nEnsure documentation meets all state, regulatory, and agency standards.\nAdvocate for clients to ensure their needs are addressed throughout care.\nMaintain ethical and professional standards in all clinical interactions.\nComplete required training and meet productivity expectations.\nAdapt to evolving program needs and assist with additional duties as assigned.\nContribute to a trauma-informed environment that prioritizes safety, trust, empowerment, and collaboration.\nRequirements\nMaster’s degree in a mental health or human services field such as Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, or related discipline.\nMinimum 2 years of experience in a behavioral health or mental health setting.\nActive independent Texas license in one of the following:\nLPC – Licensed Professional Counselor\nLCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker\nLMFT – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist\nStrong diagnostic and assessment skills.\nAbility to respond effectively during crises.\nExcellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.\nStrong documentation and organizational abilities.\nCapacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.\nCommitment to ethical practice and trauma-informed care.\nValid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation; must meet agency insurance eligibility.\nAbout Breakthrough Behavioral\nBreakthrough Behavioral is committed to supporting mental wellness, empowering individuals, and strengthening communities through compassionate, client-centered services.\nPay & Benefits\nCompetitive Pay\nOpportunities for professional development\nSupportive and collaborative team culture\nFlexible service locations including office, community, and field-based care\nAbout Breakthrough Behavioral\nBreakthrough Behavioral partners with youth, families, and communities to provide meaningful, trauma-informed support and behavioral health services.
