The Information Technology Directorate (ITD) supports the NCIS core mission areas to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats by planning for and providing services through appropriate use of the people, equipment, technology, and infrastructure resources of the United States (U.S.) Navy and Marine Corps.\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nAs a User Support Specialist, you will manage and operate a centralized service desk and oversee user support and help desk specialist resolving request/problem incidents.\n\nClearance Requirements:\nMust have an active DoD Top Secret /SCI Secret Clearance\n\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities:\nEnsure all tickets are properly resolved as quickly as possible.\nCoordinate technical support from other administrators and developers as required.\nMeasure effectiveness of incident/problems to determine resolution rates, potential system wide issues.\nRequired Education, Skills, and Experience:\nMinimum of ten (10) years of experience, of which at least five years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes management of help desks in a multi-server environment, comprehensive\nSecurity Plus certification (Security+) or equivalent.\nMinimum Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification at start.\nKnowledge of PC operating systems, e.g. Windows, as well as networking and mail standards and supervision of help desk employees.\nGeneral experience includes information systems development, network and other work in the client/server field, or related fields.\nMust have demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing and a positive customer service attitude.\nExperience in the day-to-day operation of a service desk.\nExperience with customer relationship management.\nITIL training and/or certification a plus.\nPhysical Demands and Expectations:\nTravel will be required to support this task (up to 25% travel)\nRegular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting\nAbility to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance\nAbility to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment\n\nThis position description re present s a summary of the major components and requirements of the outlined job.
