Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith P.C. is looking to hire a part-time (21-29 hours per week) insurance defense attorney for the Litigation Practice Group to work in our Southfield office. This position is eligible for hybrid work policy after training.

Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith P.C. is looking to hire a part-time (21-29 hours per week) insurance defense attorney for the Litigation Practice Group to work in our Southfield office. This position is eligible for hybrid work policy after training.
Candidates must be admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and in good standing to be considered.
Position Responsibilities Include
Managing files
Draft pleadings, motions, and responses and legal correspondence
Handle all aspects of discovery including taking depositions as well as drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests to produce
Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, trials, and evidentiary hearings
Work closely with clients including writing regular status reports and communicating complex information (written and oral) to stakeholders in an accessible way
Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff

Requirements
6+ years litigation experience including drafting pleadings, motion practice, depositions, and case management
JD from an accredited law school
Admitted to State Bar of Michigan and be in good standing
Excellent persuasive writing, legal research, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent professional judgment, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong work ethic with a record of being proactive and resourceful
