Job Title PT LAB INSTRUCTOR-AVIATION MAINTENANCE (Pool) Position Status Part Time Classification Title Part-Time Lab Instructor-Up to 19 hpw Work Location Aviation Maintenance-2405 Windecker, Midland, TX Job SummaryThe lab instructor will coordinate with the full time faculty and department chair to facilitate hands on instruction with the students while working in the lab environment. Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. Provide instructional support to the chair, dean, and students.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentCertificate in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to include classroom, lab, or welding experienceComputer literateCommunication skills with public speaking and strong organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsCollege and/or high school teaching experienceAssociate's degree in related fieldEssential FunctionsPrepare the labs for classroom and lab activitiesMaintain, clean, and keep records of the tools, supplies and lab equipmentMonitor and maintain the safe use of equipment in the labs and compound area including student safety and equipment safetyInstruct the students in the proper use and application of the software and equipment used in the labsAssist students with lab assignmentsMaintain records of student activities performed in the labInstruct and assist other MC personnel and students in the proper use and application lab equipment as requiredOther duties as assignedPhysical DemandsFrequently moves equipment or equipment weighing up to 50 poundsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the timeUse of manual dexterityRepetitive use of a keyboard at a workstationThe person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate informationThe person in this position needs to occasionally move from office to other locations on and off campusOffice and classroom settingDuties indoors and some outdoorsAbility to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community eventsSecurity SensitivityAll Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
