We want to inspire our team members to produce at the level of excellence for which Pickett is known.\n\nThis role will require you to be hands-on and manage, prepare, review and/or provide guidance for distribution design utilizing client standards which may include, but not limited to, overhead and underground distribution facilities, distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement and new feeder design.\n\nWhat You Will Be Doing:\n\nSupervise a team of engineers, technicians, and drafters\n\nCommunicate clear expectations, goals, and vision\n\nManage the performance of the team and delegate project work\n\nMotivate, coach and mentor team members\n\nManage projects, ensure quality of work and on-time delivery\n\nReview and approve engineering design submittals\n\nDevelop lasting relationships with clients\n\nEstimate projects and develop proposals\n\nWhat You Bring:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred)\n\n10+ years of related overhead and underground distribution engineering experience serving the electric utility industry (required)\n\nStrong understanding of electrical design including the selection and installation of conductors, insulators, switchgear, circuit breakers, fuses and other distribution equipment (required)\n\nPossess knowledge of CSA/IEC/NESC standards and codes and major utility engineering standards\n\nKnowledge of overhead systems design and the use of PLS-CADD (preferred)\n\nUnderstanding of structural, civil and geotechnical aspects of distribution engineering (preferred)\n\nStrong project management skills and experience (preferred)\n\nAbility to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations\n\nAbility to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied and deadline- driven work environment\n\nStrong ability to collaborate with team members and peers in the electrical utility industry\n\nEffective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)\n\nDemonstrated verbal and technical writing skills\n\nMust be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy\n\nSo...Why Join Us?\n\nYou will have the opportunity to learn, grow and directly contribute to our business.
