Consumer Representative Specialist-Part Time
Position SummaryThe Consumer Representative Specialist provides a link between referral sources and Hamilton Center in a defined geographic area. The position develops new accounts and maintains existing accounts in an effort to increase the referral base (clients served) of target market(s) and referral satisfaction. The position implements the philosophy, policies, procedures, systems and strategic goals set forth by the management team while maximizing the highest level of customer service to assigned referral sources. Performs individual, family and community education, coordinates client appointments and case management / skill training, promotes consumer advocacy, initiates community systems collaboration and referral facilitation, coordinates crisis management education and quality assurance follow-up. Assist clients by locating, coordinating, and monitoring consumer focused and goal oriented treatment, services, activities and interventions that are appropriate and accessible. The position monitors access to care and work with consumers in multiple settings based in office and community.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Develop new referral accounts and maintain existing accounts as assigned by the Director and with consultation with clinical Managers/Supervisors.Maintain current referral information with consultation and coordination with clinical staff, managers, and others, make routine sales calls, take part in community and corporate events, and initiate other vehicles to reach external customers.Investigate and be aware of changes in the external environment and behavioral health industry through professional development, education, peer interaction and professional/community involvementHave knowledge of Hamilton Center’s programs and services by geographic location and division - constantly keep updated on changes in services Have a clear understanding of Hamilton Center’s target market(s) in each area servedParticipate in all Business Development meetings and relevant team/clinical meetings as agreed upon by the Executive Director of Clinical Services to aid in coordination of activitiesTimely completion of all required reports of activity to the Director.Adhere to facility and department standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.Initiate events designed to attract and educate referral sources and consumers, i.e., community events, health fairs, breakfasts, etc.Initiate tours, public speaking events and other outreach opportunities to promote services and programsProvides collaboration with participants, physical and behavioral health care providers to improve participate health status and to assist participants in identifying and overcoming barriers that interfere with achieving health-related goals.Conducts community outreach and education to raise awareness about the health insurance coverage exchange to assist consumers in enrollment options.Provide education, reinforcement and frequent communication with consumers to encourage, support and assist them in managing and improving their primary and behavioral health careWorks with clinical supervisory assistance and evaluate possible courses of conduct or making decisions where there is no opportunity to seek supervisory assistance.Maintains an active caseload providing interventions as needed and within area of expertise and credentials; assures procurement of additional services as neededComplete Community education in relation to Consumer Representative Specialist expertise.Work within a specified budgetPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications/ RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a behavioral health area, marketing, business administration or related field.Minimum of two years’ experience in health care business development, marketing, or relevant field.
