Maintenance Technician (Full time, Morning Shift)
General PurposeThe General Maintenance Engineer responsibilities is to ensure maintenance tasks of the facility/buildings are performed and completed within the company's guidelines and standards. As a General Maintenance Engineer, you are also responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility/building systems, equipment, and systems in accordance with safety, guidelines, building codes, and budgeted expenses.This role supports buildings located within an industrial (oil refinery) environment but does not involve direct work on refinery processing equipment.You will perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including but not limited to painting, air conditioner repair and replacement, HVAC system maintenance and troubleshooting, plumbing and electrical repairs, and landscaping.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties maybe assigned as required.Ensure all regulatory obligations relating to the execution of operational duties of maintenance team are completed as requiredPerforms general carpentry and repairs to building interiors and exteriors, furniture, and other structures including but not limited to cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, andPerforms elementary painting, decorating, and finishing of building interiors and exteriors, furniture, and other structures including but not limited to plastering, wallpapering, refinishing, andPerforms preventative maintenance in facility areas according to companyPerform basic electrical repairs on items such as light fixtures, switches, outlets, etc. and light plumbing work such as clearing stoppages, replacing fittings, etc.Identifies, diagnoses, repairs, and resolves electrical, plumbing, and other maintenance issues and accurately completes required paperwork.Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.Completes maintenance work orders and follows-up with staff/tenants.Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner. Turns in a complete notification of all work finished daily. Ensure effective, timely, and professional interactions on all maintenance services provided.Perform preventative maintenance for the building and fixtures on a daily, weekly, monthly, and as needed basis.Ensures the safety and wellbeing of all staff, visitors, and facility operations.Makes routine inspections of all facilities - checks common areas, offices, and building spaces for proper use and safety.Performs all other related duties as requested by the Chief Engineer, General Manger, or Director of Operations.Perform other duties as assigned.Other DutiesAssisting with snow removal around the property may be required depending upon the type of property conditions Attend meetings/training as required by leadership.Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assignedPerform other duties as requested by leadershipQualificationsMinimum Required Technical Skills and QualificationsExcellent interpersonal skills, possessing a positive, outgoing, and naturally curiousMust be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadline with high degree of optimism, professionalism, and skillAbility to work productively with other employees as part of a team environmentAbility to handle obstacles in positive and professional manner and to effectively communicate these problems, along with suggestionsProven experience as maintenance engineerBasic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and otherKnowledge of general maintenance processes andWorking knowledge of tools, common appliancesManual dexterity and problem-solvingWillingness to work overtime; although not requiredAbility to work well under minimal supervisionAbility to take directionStrong attention to detailEducation And/Or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED2–3 years’ experience in facility maintenance, commercial buildings, or industrial environments3 years’ experience as maintenance technicianCertificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or relevant field Knowledgeable of OSHA Safety Regulations Property Maintenance experience required; industrial experience is preferredBasic mathematical skills requireExperience working in industrial or safety-sensitive environments is considered an assetLanguage SkillsMust be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors and fellow employees.
