This role is critical to maintaining the operational readiness of the Navy's premier amphibious landing craft fleet.\n\nThe ideal candidate is a former LCAC Craft Master or Craft Engineer with extensive knowledge of military maintenance procedures and administrative policies. This position involves managing the technical publications library, conducting complex craft material inspections, and providing expert consultation on maintenance packages.\n\nThis is a non-personal services contract position. The contractor employee reports directly to the Prime Contractor for all human resources and administrative matters, while receiving work direction and prioritization from ACU-5 Maintenance and Repair Officers.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTechnical Library Administration\n\nMaintain and update the physical and electronic Planning and Estimating Technical Library using Microsoft Office Access and Excel.\nOperate the Technical Publications Library daily for use by ACU personnel during core business hours.\n\nLCAC Subject Matter Expertise\n\nServe as the primary Subject Matter Expert on LCAC systems and operational maintenance.\nCoordinate with the Shore Maintenance Planning and Estimating division to ensure current publications are utilized.\nAdvise on the technical accuracy and scope of work for sea and shore maintenance packages.\nReview active maintenance packages and provide status updates to the Repair Officer and Maintenance Officer.\nDocument completed maintenance packages into the Maintenance Planning Tool (MPT) for tracking.\n\nCraft Material Inspection & INSURV Support\n\nProvide technical support for Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) preparations.\nEnsure all technical publications pertaining to INSURV are current and accurate.\nConduct Craft Material Inspections (CMIs) at the request of the Maintenance Officer and deliver detailed reports.\n\nEquipment Maintenance & Facility Support\n\nDevelop, implement, and oversee scheduled maintenance plans for all shop equipment.\nAssist in diagnosing equipment issues and coordinate prompt repairs with vendors to minimize downtime.\nMaintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of spare parts and tools.\n\nSafety & Training\n\nConduct regular safety inspections to ensure strict compliance with OSHA standards.\nDevelop, update, and deliver annual training programs for shop staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.\nTrain new employees on equipment operation and safety protocols on a monthly basis.\n\nReporting & Communication\n\nGenerate weekly \"Eight O'clock\" reports to brief the Maintenance Officer on equipment readiness, ongoing repairs, and parts status.\nProvide updated statuses on equipment repairs, outstanding parts, and estimated completion dates.\nRequired Qualifications\n\nEducation: High School Diploma or GED.\n\nExperience: Minimum five years of experience with military administrative policies and procedures related to operations and maintenance on LCACs. Minimum two years of experience as an LCAC Craft Master or LCAC Craft Engineer.\n\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access and Excel, for database management and library updates.\n\nCitizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.\n\nSecurity: Must possess an Active SECRET Security Clearance, verifiable in DISS/JPAS.\n\nLanguage: Fluent in written and verbal English.\n\nKnowledge: Deep understanding of LCAC systems, Navy maintenance procedures, and military chain of command.\n\nInterpersonal: Ability to work effectively with military personnel, government civilians, and contractors.
