Line Cook- Salary-Range: $20.00-$25.00 Per Hour- San Francisco, Bay Area, CAThe RoleDo you enjoy working in a fast-moving kitchen where every shift brings something different? Are you confident working as part of a team to deliver high-quality food under pressure?We are looking for a reliable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen teams in San Francisco.You will support the Kitchen Chef in preparing and presenting food to a high standard. You will follow prep sheets, maintain food safety procedures and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently throughout service.This is an hourly position with rotating shifts, including weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays depending on business needs.If you take pride in producing great food and keeping a well-organised kitchen running smoothly, this role could be a great fit.Key Responsibilities:Prepare food items according to prep sheets and manager instructionsMaintain high standards of food safety and avoid cross contaminationFollow FIFO and LDIR stock rotation systemsUse kitchen tools such as slicers, knives, and measuring equipment safelyCommunicate clearly with team members regarding orders and service needsStock and organise food items ahead of serviceLabel, store, and rotate ingredients correctlyMaintain cleanliness across all kitchen work areasClean and switch off equipment at the end of each shiftMonitor inventory levels and report shortagesFollow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedulesReport any health or safety concerns immediatelyThe CompanyMcCalls Catering & Events is known for fabulous cuisine, innovative event planning and design, and flawless execution at its Events and Café Operations. We believe in the importance of hiring good people, holding them to high standards, letting them follow their passions, and getting out of the way.The PersonYou will need to be an all-round line-cook able to execute high-volume order cooking as well as being a great team player in the kitchen arena.You will bring:Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar kitchen roleHigh school diploma or equivalent (culinary qualification desirable)Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen best practiceAbility to work efficiently in a teamGood communication and organisational skillsAbility to multitask during busy service periodsCA food handler's license certified, requiredSound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.Constant standing and walkingFrequent lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 10-15 lbs, occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 lbs, rarely lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 100 lbs (with assistance)Covid Vaccination is required for this role.
