You will work closely with employees and other department managers and supervisors to coordinate with Production, Quality, and Shipping Departments. You will be an active partner in all aspects of our employees' careers, including but not limited to training, development, discipline, performance appraisals, and culture.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nResponsible for the team's success in meeting daily production goals, quality standards, and service times while monitoring and maintaining efficiencies, labor usage, and waste percentages, working independently with minimal direction from the Production Manager\nLeads a team of employees in a technical, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that emphasizes quality\nContributes to the business by adhering to best practices and seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nDevelops new methods and procedures to optimize efficiencies, maximize labor utilization, and reduce operating costs\nSupports compliance with, and the maintenance of, safety requirements in accordance with company policies and/or federal/state laws\nProvides visible leadership and drives a motivated, positive, productive workforce\nIdentifies, coaches and develops team members through training, performance reviews, coaching, support and delegation as appropriate for their development level\nEstablishes an environment that is conducive to collaboration and teamwork, promotes positive employee relations, and takes steps to prevent or diffuse conflicts\nImplements and follows policies and procedures consistently and according to company standards\nResponsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment\nMonitors and documents ongoing safety program, making recommendations and implementing necessary changes to meet federal and state safety standards\nCoaches exempt and non-exempt personnel on safety best practices\nDevelops risk assessments, scenario planning, plan development, and crisis/contingency planning in accordance with best practices and ensures their implementation\nConducts investigations involving employee injuries or property damage, providing recommendations to prevent reoccurrence, and assists the Safety and Security Manager and supervisors in the resolution of work-related injuries\nRequirements\nBachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field\nMust be a self-starter and be able to successfully execute initiatives with minimal guidance and accomplish stated goals.\nExcellent team player able to take direction and strike a balance with providing strong leadership\nMinimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred\nProven success leading and motivating employees through consistent, effective, and fair methods\nRegularly supervises up to 20+ employees, including such tasks as hiring; performance evaluations; assigning work; merit increases, promotions, and reclassifications; discipline and discharge; and complaint resolution\nSuccess in training, developing, and providing direction to staff\nMust lead by example at all times and be a role model to the leads and operators on the plant floor while treating people with respect, dignity, and professionalism\nActs in a firm, fair, and consistent manner\nHandles pressure very well\nExperience with hiring, training, and problem solving; able to lead, coach, and mentor others\nDemonstrates decision-making and problem-solving skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)\nGood interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships at various levels\nEffective oral and written communication skills\nAbility to work as needed, particularly during high-volume periods, to ensure that departmental objectives are accomplished\nAbility to travel up to 5% of the time\n\nApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.\n\nWe are an equal-opportunity employer.
