Forming Operator - 1st Shift

Role SummaryThe Forming Operator is an entry-level production role responsible for operating and monitoring forming equipment under direct supervision. This position supports the manufacturing process by assisting with machine setup, performing routine quality checks, maintaining production flow, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Forming Operator 1 develops foundational technical skills while learning company processes, equipment functions, and production requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate forming equipment according to established work instructions and supervisor guidance.Assist with basic machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers as directedLoad raw materials (wire, bar, or other forming stock) into machines and ensure proper material flowMonitor equipment during operation and notify supervisor of abnormalities, jams, or quality concernsPerform routine in-process inspections using gauges and measuring devices to verify product specificationsIdentify and segregate non-conforming material; communicate quality issues promptlyComplete required production documentation, including scrap reporting and production tracking sheetsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with 5S standardsFollow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and machine guarding requirements.Support preventive maintenance activities as directedAssist in material handling, packaging, and labeling of finished goodsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programsPerform additional duties as assigned.
