This person will be the primary owner for the validation of the Test4z product within Broadcom’s Mainframe software portfolio. Given this product enables unit testing and code coverage of COBOL applications and provides capability to record program execution, the selected candidate will spend 80% of their time writing software applications to harden and validate product integrity within the software development and release lifecycle.\nIn this role, you will work within the development organization to create and execute the test plans necessary to harden product capability.\nThe ideal candidate will know how to utilize tooling to visualize and aggregate test results while creating the necessary automation to create a repeatable process. Excellent organization and problem-solving skills are a must. Your ability to adapt with changing priorities is an important strength. The individual and team goal will be to maintain high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives.\n***Note – This is an in-office position (5 days/week) located in Durham, NC\nBeing able to work on mission critical, high importance software is a must. Mainframes literally run the world’s economy.\nResponsibilities\nCreate and execute validation scenarios authored in COBOL\nCreate overall test plans within the software development life cycle\nAbility to understand customer needs to design and develop appropriate ‘outside-in’ validation points\nActively support and contribute to end of iteration demos\nMentor, train, develop and serve as a knowledge resource for less experienced Software Engineers\nRequired Technical and Professional Expertise\nBachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering\nIn-depth expertise with COBOL and at least one script language JavaScript/TypeScript, Python (ie – 80% of the time will be developing hardening software and/or automation\n5+ years of experience as a software engineer\nExperience in Agile Development\nFamiliarity with VSCode development environment\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines setup (Jenkins is a plus), build configuration, with unit testing and test automation\nRecommended/Useful Skills:\nKnowledge and experience with the Mainframe environment (ISPF, CICS, Db2, IMS, IDMS)\nKnowledge of Source Code Control Systems such as Endevor and Github\nFamiliarity with any formal project tracking toolset\n\nAdditional Job Description:\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $130,000\nThis position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.\nBroadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
