The Quality Control Technician must always stay in communication with the Quality Control Manager and/or the Production & Plant Manager(s) in cases of failures. This is a physically demanding job and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, squat, sit, and stand repetitiously for the entire shift.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nFollow guidelines for preparing and testing samples\nMeasure test pieces using a variety of measuring devices including calipers, tape measures, moisture meters, and scales\nMust be able to determine when retesting is necessary and maintain communication with management regarding all retests\nMust be able to always maintain legible paperwork to record test results\nMaintains a safe and clean working environment, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations\nMust work well with limited supervision\nMust be very safety oriented and comply with all company and OSHA regulations\nPerform other duties as assigned by management\nTroubleshooting quality issues\nDaily monitoring of quality and process flow\nData entry of quality results\nRequired Skills & Experience\nRead and write in English.\nReliable individual with an excellent time and attendance record\nProficient in basic math skills\nProficient in the use of basic tools and measuring devices\nProficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel and Word)\nExcellent written and verbal communication\nHigh attention to detail and organization\nCreative problem solver\nPositive attitude with a track record of delivering results\nSelf-motivated with a strong ability to multitask and operate with minimal supervision\nCapable of lifting at least 50 pounds, kneeling, squatting, and standing repetitiously\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nPreferred Skills & Experience\nPrevious experience in quality control or quality assurance\nPrevious experience in lumber manufacturing\nEqual Employment Opportunity:\nSmartLam North America is an equal opportunity employer and makes all employment decisions without regard to race, religion, color, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation and gender identity), national origin, disability, age, genetic information, or any other status protected under applicable federal, state, or local laws.
