This role supports secure and reliable data exchange across the SaaS solution and interfacing systems while enabling PPBE, budget, acquisition, reporting, auditability, and AI/reporting readiness. The Pega Data/Integration Engineer works closely with architects, Pega engineers, Product Owners, testers, platform administrators, and release managers to define data models, support API-based integration patterns, develop migration templates, perform data validation, resolve data exceptions, and maintain traceability across the solution lifecycle.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSupport data architecture, integration, interoperability, migration, and interface activities for an enterprise Pega-based SaaS solution.\nDevelop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, metadata artifacts, data mapping documentation, interface specifications, and integration support materials.\nDesign and support API-based, secure, standards-aligned integration approaches between internal or external systems.\nSupport data migration planning and execution, including templates, mapping, cleansing, normalization, transformation, exception handling, validation, and reconciliation.\nCollaborate with the Pega Lead System Architect to ensure data and integration patterns align with solution architecture, security requirements, auditability needs, and sustainment objectives.\nWork with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data sources, authoritative data elements, reporting needs, workflow dependencies, and data quality expectations.\nSupport implementation of data pipelines, integration logic, interface monitoring, and data validation processes.\nParticipate in interface control documentation, interoperability standards, integration test planning, and integration defect resolution.\nSupport test teams with test data strategy, integration test scenarios, migration validation, interface testing, and data-related defect triage.\nSupport AI/reporting readiness by ensuring source data, metadata, lineage, permissions, and reporting inputs are accurate, traceable, and appropriately governed.\nMonitor data flows and interface performance during operations and support root cause analysis for data or integration issues.\nMaintain integration documentation, data artifacts, migration logs, validation results, and knowledge-base materials in approved repositories.\nCoordinate with configuration, change, and release management resources to ensure data and interface changes are controlled, tested, documented, and baselined\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\n6+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, systems integration, API implementation, data migration, enterprise application integration, or related technical roles.\nExperience supporting data architecture, data modeling, metadata management, data mapping, transformation, migration, and validation activities.\nFamiliarity with Pega data structures, Pega integration patterns, APIs, connectors, services, or enterprise workflow/case management systems.\nExperience designing or supporting secure API-based integrations, interface control documentation, data exchange patterns, and interoperability standards.\nPractical understanding of data cleansing, normalization, transformation, reconciliation, exception handling, and test data preparation.\nExperience supporting integration testing, system testing, UAT, defect triage, and production issue resolution related to data or interfaces.\nFamiliarity with auditability, traceability, RBAC, access logging, data governance, and secure handling of sensitive data.\nStrong SQL, data analysis, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills\nAbility to work effectively with architects, developers, testers, business analysts, platform administrators, and Government stakeholders.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain data and integration issues clearly.\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:\nExposure to Federal, state, health, financial, or other regulated data environments is beneficial; Department of Veterans Affairs experience is a plus but not required.\nFamiliarity with financial, acquisition, HR, identity, reporting, budgeting, or other enterprise data domains is valued.\nExperience with Pega data structures, Pega integrations, REST APIs, OpenAPI, JSON, XML, ETL/ELT, or cloud integration patterns is a plus.\nWorking knowledge of data governance, metadata, data quality, migration validation, lineage, auditability, or secure data exchange is beneficial.\nRelevant data, integration, cloud, API, or Pega certifications are preferred, but not required.\nEDUCATION:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.\nCLEARANCE:\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nWORK LOCATION:\nRemote\nAs part of the application process, you are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments.
