We designed the next generation of earth imaging satellites, built the Psyche spacecraft to study asteroids, and are partnering with NASA on our PPE program and supporting the SDA in creating national security assets. Lanteris Space seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer for our Palo Alto, CA office who can apply their knowledge and experience in Flight Software to participate in systems engineering activities in support of our current programs.\nResponsibilities Create a Concept of Operations (ConOps) development and validation\nDevelop, decompose, and flow requirements at the mission, system, subsystem, and component levels\nManage requirements development and maintenance\nDevelop and maintain system budgets (mass, power, data)\nDevelop and execute full system validation and verification plan\nLead customer discussions regarding system design decisions\nDefine and conceptualize mechanical interface & operability requirements\nGenerate and maintain compliance matrix for system and subsystems\nFacilitate collaboration across subsystems engineers to ensure compliance\nRole‑model interpersonal behaviors that promote psychological safety and belonging within the organization\nProvide senior technical oversight to ensure the expected quality, rigor, and discipline of systems engineering is maintained\nEnsure technical teams properly identify technical risks and opportunities, implement appropriate risk mitigation and action plans, and drive mitigation of risks to meet programmatic timelines\nSupport proposal development and help explore new business opportunities that capitalize on our company's strengths\nOversee spacecraft testing and review test results\nMinimum Requirements Must be a US citizen or permanent resident\nBachelor's degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering, physics, or STEM field (or four additional years of experience substituted for the degree)\nFive years of relevant experience in systems engineering or real-time control of complex systems, with an emphasis in Flight Software development and verification\nExperience coding in C, C++, Python, TCL, or Matlab and creating software tools for verification activities (a plus)\nExperience with software architecture, verification, and validation\nGeneral understanding of spacecraft design and product life cycle\nPreferred Qualifications Previous experience working on United States Government programs\nExperience with any requirements management systems (e.g., DOORS, JAMA, etc.)\nFamiliarity with risk management\nGood communication and presentation skills\nExperience developing technical processes, and tailoring processes for unique programs\nExperience with GitLab, TortoiseSVN, or other software version control systems\nSalary The base pay for this position within California is $117,000.00 – $195,000.00 annually.
