(SSAI) is seeking an experienced Space Weather Observation (SWO) Division Ground Systems Engineer to support NOAA, NASA, and the Ground System and Mission Operations (GSMO-3) contract as a Ground Systems Engineer for the SOLAR-A Mission.\r\nThis position is on-site at NOAA, NSOF, or NASA Goddard Space Flight Center with a low probability of domestic travel.\r\nResponsibilities\r\n\r\nWork closely with the SOLAR-A Mission and Ground Systems Engineering (MSE) Team.\r\nProvide broad technical insight into ground communications design, development, and test as the mission prepares for Critical Design Review (CDR) and proceeds into development.\r\nCoordinate with antenna, communications, and facility industry partners and government stakeholders on ground communications and facility design, interfaces, trade studies, requirements verification, and anomaly activities.\r\n\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\n\r\nMaster's degree (M.S.) and a minimum of 12 years related experience and/or training; alternately, a Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) with 16+ years of applicable experience.\r\nExperience supporting NOAA Ground Communication and Facility Systems Engineering.\r\nKnowledge of Engineering processes and tools including requirements management, design, development, and test.\r\nExperience supporting mission reviews including Critical Design Review (CDR), Operations Readiness Review, etc.\r\n\r\nDesired Qualifications\r\n\r\nWorking understanding of antenna communications and communications architecture.\r\nActive or prior security clearance.\r\n\r\nPhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; have mobility; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
