Operates one or more standard or special purpose production machines for various operations. Generally close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to nature of tooling and machine setups.\n\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities\nObserve and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policies, including wearing required PPE.\nComplete an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule.\nOperate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.\nOperate and adjust manual, semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine equipment to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations.\nOperate one or more standard or special purpose production machines for various operations.\nPerform close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to nature of tooling and machine setups.\nCheck work at specified points.\nAdjust machine to maintain finish and tolerance requirements.\nWork from part drawings and use required precision measuring instruments to check and inspect work.\nRecognize and report machine malfunctions, tooling difficulties, etc.\nMay assist with setups or proving of program.\nUnder supervision, work procedures and products are subject to check and inspection.\nMeet with engineers to discuss potential machine problems.\nObserve and follow safety rules.\nMaintain clean work area.\nThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.\n\nKnowledge and Skills Requirements\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, additional training from trade school preferred\nRequires 1 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.\nRequires a general knowledge of tooling applications.\nMust be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and routings.\nRequires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform geometric algebraic and trigonometric calculations.\nMust perform metric conversions.\nRequires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.\n\nCompetencies\nExcellent communication and follow-up skills\nDetail and task orientated\nContinuous improvement/innovation\nMust be able to read and write English\n\nKey Behaviors\nAre accountable to others\nHave the courage to challenge the status quo\nAre honest with co-workers and customers\nAble to be innovative problem solvers\nAre engaged team members\nAdd value to the Company\nExpects excellence of self and others\nOverserves top customers\nUnderstands, simplifies and acts to improve processes\n\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
