This role includes responsibilities in psychological assessment, special education support, and serving as a Transition Coordinator to assist students in preparing for post-secondary success, High School Credit Analysis and other duties as directed by the program supervisor.Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment & EvaluationConduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments for students needing to be reevaluated for special education servicesInterpret assessment data and prepare detailed, compliant evaluation reportsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine eligibility and appropriate servicesUse data to inform instructional strategies and interventionsIEP Participation & ComplianceAttend and actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetingsProvide clear explanations of assessment results to families and staffAssist in developing measurable goals and appropriate accommodationsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulationsTransition CoordinationServe as Transition Coordinator for students ages 14-26Develop and implement transition plans in collaboration with special education teachers aligned with student goals for post-secondary education, employment, and independent livingCollaborate with community agencies, vocational programs, and post-secondary institutionsSupport students and families in navigating transition resources and servicesAnalyze and perform credit analysis for all High School StudentsConsultation & CollaborationPartner with teachers, administrators, and families to support student successProvide consultation on behavioral, academic, and social-emotional concernsContribute to a positive, inclusive school climateMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCandidate must meet Michigan State Department of Education criteria for full or temporary approval as a School Psychologist and have at least a Master's degree.Must have either a valid Michigan School Psychologist certificate or a Preliminary School Psychologist Certificate.Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.An ability to relate well to others and use good interpersonal skills.Knowledge of behavior management techniques, writing behavior intervention plans, functional behavior analysis, and implementing positive behavioral supports.Knowledge of and/or willingness to develop skills in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI techniques), Applied Behavior Analysis, and other similar programs will be helpful.Experience with students with behavioral challenges be helpful.Preferred SkillsExperience working with diverse student populationsFamiliarity with IEP management systemsAbility to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlinesKnowledge of evidence-based interventions and practicesCompensation: In accordance with the Center Program Salary Schedule - H.P.E.A.
