Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\nResponsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of 5-25 hourly direct reports.\nResponsible for complying with customer service and quality standards.\nStudy shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.\nOversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.\nDetermine space requirements and position of shipment in warehouses and trucks and lays out position of shipment.\nDetermine routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.\nInspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded truck doors.\nInspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair. Maintain vehicle maintenance report.\nDirect movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.\nCompile records of unfilled orders. Post weight and shipping charges. Prepare bills of lading.\nFollow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s) and company policies at all times; must be familiar with G.M.P. requirements and the employee handbook.\nMonitor errors and complaint trends, and develop actions to correct incidents. Also identifies methods to proactively eliminate or prevent future recurrences.\nResponsible for maintaining attendance of start and end time and work as scheduled.\nResponsible for complying with all safety, health, and environmental regulations as prescribed by law and policies of the employer.\nAny foreign materials found in product or ingredients needs to be reported to a supervisor immediately.\nResponsible for reporting Safety incidents in a timely manner including but not limited to minor safety violations.\nResponsible for updating KPI reports in a timely manner and attend drumbeat/KPI meetings regularly.\nREQUIREMENTS:\n\nAbility to lift/move up to 50 lbs. as needed.\nAbility to work in light to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required.\nAbility to stand for a prolonged period of time.\nFlexibility to work in excess of 40 hours per week.\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment in close proximity to others.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.\nAbility to handle multiple priorities and tasks.\nReceptive to new ideas, concepts and procedures.\nReceptive and responsive to constructive criticism.\nEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:\n\nGood written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred, but not required.\nComputer skills – SAP experience preferred.\nStrong self-confidence and leadership.\nBasic mechanical skills.
