Summary: This job is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to improve the lives of kids while gaining leadership skills and youth development skills for future career opportunities in a fun and engaging work environment. A YDP is a professional role model and mentor for kids (grades K-12). YDP’s provide a safe environment while helping youth have fun in a structured environment filled with a variety of activities and programs. This position works indoors and outdoors with moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. This job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The ability to use a computer, read, and write are necessary. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (required) Subject to initial and re-occurring background checks (required) · Current First Aid/CPR/AED and Oregon Food Handler’s Certifications (required, can be provided) Combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to 6+ months in youth development, customer service and staff management (preferred) · Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with and contribute to a team Highly organized and detail oriented Ability to maintain confidentiality · Ability to work with small to large groups of children Duties and Responsibilities: · Directly supervise and interact with youth during program hours · Assist with activities being facilitated · Develop partnerships with parents/guardians · Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline policy · Complete daily cleaning and/or operational duties throughout site · Other duties as assigned by Site Director/Program Manager Disclaimer: The information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected.
