Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible.\r\nPrincipal Engineer, Algorithm – ECGThe Principal Engineer, Algorithm – ECG is responsible for the architecture, development, and advancement of ECG signal processing algorithms that support accurate and reliable cardiac monitoring across Masimo’s non-invasive platforms. This role provides technical and project leadership for the innovation in ECG-based measurements, including heart rate, rhythm analysis, and advanced cardiac insights, translating complex physiological signals into clinically meaningful outputs. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams spanning hardware, software, systems, and clinical disciplines to develop high-performance, regulatory-compliant solutions from concept through commercialization. The position reports to the Manager, Algorithm – ECG and is part of the R&D Algorithm Engineering department located in Irvine, CA and will be an on-site role.\r\nIn This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:Lead the design and development of advanced ECG signal processing algorithms, including filtering, feature extraction, waveform delineation, and rhythm classification.\r\nArchitect scalable algorithm frameworks for ECG analysis, supporting real-time embedded implementation and cloud-based analytics where applicable.\r\nDevelop and optimize algorithms for heart rate detection, arrhythmia identification, and ECG morphology analysis.\r\nDesign and conduct validation strategies using clinical datasets to ensure algorithm accuracy, robustness, and generalizability across diverse patient populations.\r\nTranslate clinical and regulatory requirements into algorithm design inputs, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., FDA, IEC).\r\nEssential Requirements:B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\r\n12+ years of relevant experience in ECG algorithm development, signal processing, or related domain.\r\nDeep expertise in ECG signal processing, digital signal processing, and statistical modeling.\r\nProven experience developing ECG algorithms, including waveform detection and cardiac feature extraction.\r\nStrong programming skills in C/C++, MATLAB, Python, or similar.\r\nExperience working with large-scale physiological or clinical datasets.\r\nAdditional Preferred Experience:Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\r\nExperience with arrhythmia detection/classification algorithms or cardiac monitoring systems.\r\nKnowledge of cardiac physiology and electrophysiology principles.\r\nExperience applying machine learning techniques to ECG or time-series physiological data.\r\nFamiliarity with wearable or ambulatory ECG systems and associated signal challenges.\r\nCompensation & Benefits:The annual salary range for this role is $170,000 - $215,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for up to a 15% annual bonus.\r\nNote: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
