This highly visible position is ideal for an experienced, hands-on engineer who thrives in a collaborative and fast-moving environment.Reports toDirector of ITPay ClassificationFull-Time, ExemptResponsibilitiesLead complex IT and security projects end to end (requirements, design, implementation, testing, and documentation), maintaining project plans, timelines, and status reporting for IT leadership and business stakeholdersDesign, implement, and harden security across the Microsoft 365 E5 stack (Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview/Compliance, and Intune), including detections, alert rules, and automated response playbooks built with the IT Security team and our MDR/SOC providerImprove Microsoft Secure Score, device compliance, and conditional access posture, and drive remediation of findings with the responsible IT teamsAdminister and enhance the M365 environment and other business applications, including Workday, Zendesk, and collaboration and productivity toolsDesign and build integrations between business systems, such as Workday, Salesforce, Entra ID and M365, for identity lifecycle, provisioning, and data flowPartner with the SCALE team to architect solutions that scale with business needs, applying AI and integrations to business processes and workflowsAutomate recurring IT and security processes using PowerShell, Power Automate, Graph API, and AI toolingEngineer and maintain device management standards, images, application packaging, and policy baselines in Intune for Windows and macOSPartner with Compliance, Legal, and Security to keep IT systems aligned with A-LIGN's SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other accreditation requirements, and to evaluate new software, integrations, vendors, and emerging technologies that reduce risk, cost, and manual effortSupport incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing, including technical execution and post-test documentationProduce and maintain technical design documents, implementation specs, runbooks, and knowledge base articlesAct as an escalation point and technical subject matter expert for the IT Support and Systems Administration teamsContribute to day-to-day IT operations alongside project work, including escalated tickets, troubleshooting end-user and system issues, system maintenance, and recurring administrative tasksEvaluate emerging technologies and prospective vendors, and recommend solutions that reduce risk, cost, and manual effortMinimum QualificationsEDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experienceExperience4+ years of professional experience in an IT engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure role, supporting a global user base2+ years of experience leading IT or security projects, including planning, stakeholder management, and delivery of concurrent workstreamsDemonstrated experience delivering security-focused projects in a Microsoft 365 E5 environmentHands-on administration experience with M365, Entra ID, Intune/Endpoint Manager, Defender, Purview/Compliance, and SentinelExperience integrating business systems and identity sources, such as Workday to Entra ID including provisioning and lifecycle automationStrong scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Graph API, and Power Automate, including AI-enabled or integration-heavy solutions delivered with engineering teamsWorking knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST 800-53Experience collaborating with MDR/SOC and other external security partnersExperience with Zendesk or a comparable ticketing system, and with Copilot or other AI tooling, is a plusExcellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal supervisionCERTIFICATIONSProject management (PMP, CAPM) preferred but not requiredMicrosoft security (SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, MD-102) or CompTIA Security+ preferred but not requiredSkillsStrong cross-functional collaboration and project management skillsAbility to translate framework requirements into clear, actionable requests for technical teamsHighly organized with the ability to manage evidence deadlines across multiple concurrent audit cyclesExcellent written communication for control narratives, evidence descriptions, and assessor responsesSelf-directed with strong follow-through in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProven experience utilizing AI tools to automate manual tasks, streamline workflows, and increase team efficiencyExperience operating in PE-backed or high-growth environments preferredBenefitsHealthcare, Dental, and Vision BenefitsEmployer Paid Life Insurance and Disability InsuranceEAP -
