Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist
Responsibilities: • Ensure both domestic and international suppliers comply with U.S. food safety regulations, including FSMA, FSVP, FDA, USDA, and other applicable standards • Perform and review hazard analyses for both imported and domestically sourced food products • Assess supplier performance and carry out verification activities such as documentation reviews, audits, and product testing when necessary • Oversee supplier approval processes, onboarding, and continuous monitoring programs across multiple business units and product categories • Facilitate supplier communications, including routine check-ins and escalated discussions with global vendors across various time zones • Handle escalated supplier issues and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to implement corrective and preventive actions • Support regulatory inspections and audits at U.S. facilities, including FDA inspections, FSVP audits, USDA requirements, and local health authority reviews • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of supplier quality systems, SOPs, and compliance procedures • Address customer and consumer inquiries related to product safety, supplier documentation, and product-specific information • Assist with additional supplier quality, regulatory, and compliance initiatives as neededBenefits • Medical/Dental/Vision • 401KWork Experience / Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree a plus. Degree in Food Science or related discipline a huge plus. • 3–5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food safety, or supplier quality • Certifications such PCQI (required), HACCP (required), and FSVP (preferred) • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, FSMA, and FSVP requirements • Experience supporting regulatory or third-party audits (e.g., FDA, GFSI, AIB) • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentPreferred Qualifications: • Experience with supplier management platforms such as TraceGains, Repositrak, or similar systems • Background working with international suppliers and imported food products • Familiarity with multi-site operations and varying regulatory requirements across regions • Experience using warehouse or ERP systems such as HighJump, SAP, NetSuite, or comparable platformsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
