This role will entail working on new implementations of a data historian with Excel and browser extensions. You will work alongside industry professionals and learn how to capture and display operations data that enables them to be successful in their duties and provide insight into plant operations.\n\nPrimary Duties & Responsibilities\n\nCandidate will participate in equipment uptime, downtime, and availability tracking.\n\nCandidate will develop data historian screens, Excel templates, and dashboards for employees, managers, and directors' use.\n\nWill be implementing Excel data historian plugins and programming functionality with VBA/Excel Macros.\n\nWill train employees and managers on use of the new screens and Excel functions.\n\nFinal report will be a deliverable demonstrating the new screens, dashboards, and templates to managers and directors.\n\nEducation & Experience\n\nEducation Level Required: Bachelor’s (Rising Junior; completed 2 years by start)\n\nMajors: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering\n\nExperience with Excel VBA/Macro (demonstrated experience writing Macros or VBA script in Excel)\n\nOpen to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.\n\nSkills & Other Requirements\n\nCompetent written and verbal communication.\n\nTeam-oriented but able to work independently when needed.\n\nAdaptable and eager to learn.\n\nAttention to detail and time management.\n\nInternship Duration: 10–14 weeks.\n\nWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements\n\nThis role will be based 100% on-site in Newark, DE. This is not a remote role.\n\nRegular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.\n\nWalking/working in manufacturing area and in office areas.\n\nSitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.\n\nUse of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.\n\nOccasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.\n\nAbility to communicate verbally and in writing.\n\nAbility to wear steel-toe shoes and wear safety glasses or prescription glasses with side shields.\n\nSafety Requirements\nAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
