Length of\nemployment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration.\nEssential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to:)\nMust have a nationally accredited certification and State Certifications where required.\nMust have a current health clearance to operate hoisting equipment.\nDrive trucks to worksites.\nPlace blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.\nStart crane engine.\nMove levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis to raise and lower crane boom and loadlines.\nOperate crane according to signals from helper.\nBolt boom sections together to extend or modify boom for pile driving or high lifting.\nWork within precise limits and standards of accuracy.\nWork within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Craft Handbook and maintain compliance\nwith both the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual and the Samuel EPC Safety Manual.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the foreman/supervisor as needed.\nEssential Qualifications\nThree (3) years minimum Field experience in trade\nAble to identify all hand signals, weight limits, safety regulations, and operating codes that are relevant\nfor crane operation.\nMust have current drivers license and other certification if required by OSHA, state, or federal regulations\nAbility to work with others to achieve job goals\nRead, write and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions (other\npreferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)\nPhysical Requirements\nStand or walk for long periods of time\nUse arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects\nLift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds\nwith assistance\nClimb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects\nStoop, kneel, crouch and crawl\nSee well (naturally or with correction)\nEyehand coordination\nGood physical fitness\nGood sense of balance\nWork at great heights\nTool Requirements\nSteel toed work boots\nRaincoat or poncho\nEnvironment: Construction Workers perform physically demanding work including lifting and carrying\nheavy objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling in awkward positions. Some work at great\nheights, or outdoors in all weather conditions. With some projects, work exposure to harmful/hazardous\nmaterials, chemicals, fumes, odors, lead-based paints, asbestos, loud noise, or dangerous machinery\nmay exist. To avoid injury, workers in these jobs wear safety clothing, such as gloves, hardhats,\nprotective chemical suits, and devices to protect their eyes, respiratory system, or hearing.
