This role serves as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance in test planning, execution, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across manufacturing and product development.\n\nWorking closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Certification teams, this position supports product validation, UL compliance, and factory acceptance testing while helping strengthen test processes, documentation, and technical rigor across the organization.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nExecute electrical testing of power distribution equipment including switchgear, panelboards, PDUs, and RPPs.\n\nDevelop and maintain electrical test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.\n\nPerform and oversee functional, hi-pot, insulation resistance, grounding, and load testing.\n\nAnalyze test results and lead root-cause investigations for failures and nonconformances.\n\nEnsure compliance with UL, NEC, IEEE, NEMA, and customer requirements.\n\nSupport UL witness testing, audits, and certification activities.\n\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.\n\nTroubleshoot test failures and production issues in support of manufacturing and quality teams.\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\nParticipate in design reviews to ensure testability, safety, and code compliance.\n\nDrive continuous improvement of test methods, equipment, documentation, and lab processes.\n\nSupport factory acceptance testing (FAT) and customer qualification activities.\n\nContribute to development of standard work, calibration practices, and test data management.\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\n\n5+ years of experience in electrical testing, validation, or verification of power distribution equipment.\n\nStrong knowledge of electrical power systems, control wiring, and protection schemes.\n\nHands‑on experience with electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools.\n\nWorking knowledge of UL, NEC, IEEE, and NEMA standards.\n\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, single‑line diagrams, and test documentation.\n\nProven analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.\n\nExperience in electrical manufacturing or industrial test environments.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nPrior involvement with UL certification and witness testing.\n\nExperience supporting factory acceptance testing (FAT).\n\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD and electrical design documentation.\n\nExperience with MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing test data systems.\n\nWhy Hyper?\nAt Hyper, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of mission‑critical power and infrastructure solutions.
