From working with technologies like AI, cyber and cloud to careers in intelligence and health, we offer endless opportunities to apply your expertise to create a safer, smarter world while building new skills to propel your career forward.\nJob Description\nGDIT is seeking a Cloud Architect / Developer SME to design, build, and secure large-scale Azure Government environments supporting mission‑critical federal systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nArchitect secure, scalable Azure GovCloud infrastructures and network connectivity\nDesign cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and analytics architectures.\nAutomate cloud provisioning with Terraform/ARM/Bicep; ensure consistent, FedRAMP‑compliant environments\nImplement Azure AD, RBAC, least‑privilege, encryption, and NIST‑aligned security controls\nApply DISA STIGs/CIS benchmarks and lead architecture reviews/documentation\nDrive FinOps optimization and guide engineering teams on cloud best practices\nMigrate NTIA’s Unclassified Spectrum Management Systems to Azure Government\nMigrate the NTIA Secret environment to the Azure Secret Cloud\nEnhance the security and administration of Spectrum IT systems operations.\nMigrate and modernize with config-level changes\nPush toward Platform as a Service (PaaS) and cloud-native where possible\nReplatform if the application can leverage Azure PaaS\nRehost using Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) if the application can’t leverage Azure PaaS\nUse Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Azure Well-Architected Framework\nLeverage the NTIA FSDS IL5 tenant based on the single tenant architect\nRequirements:\nEducation: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, or equivalent experience\nExperience: 10+ years cloud engineering/architecture experience\nExperience with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Azure Well-Architected Framework\nStrong Azure, Terraform/Bicep, networking, automation, and security expertise\nFamiliarity with Ansible, PowerShell DSC, and modern development tools/languages\nCertification(s): One or more required certifications (Azure Architect, Azure Engineer, CISSP, etc.)\nClearance: Must possess and maintain an Active Secret or higher clearance\nUS Citizenship Required\nLocation: Hybrid in Washington, D.C.
