Position SummaryThe Maintenance Manager leads maintenance operations for facility infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and material handling systems. This role ensures optimal equipment reliability, safe operations, and continuous improvement of maintenance programs to support production goals.The Maintenance Manager supervises the maintenance team, manages preventive maintenance programs, oversees repairs and capital improvements, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance OperationsLead maintenance activities for production equipment, packaging systems, vehicles, and facility infrastructure.Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment issues.Coordinate inspections, service schedules, and equipment repairs with internal teams and external vendors.Team LeadershipSupervise, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians (typically 6-10 employees).Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate maintenance staff.Plan and assign work schedules and ensure maintenance coverage across shifts.Foster a strong safety culture and lead regular safety meetings.Facilities & Asset ManagementOversee maintenance and improvement of buildings, equipment, vehicles, and fixed assets.Manage relationships with contractors and service providers for specialized repair work.Evaluate equipment replacement needs and participate in capital planning.Budget & Cost ControlManage the department budget and track expenditures (typically up to $1M annually).Authorize purchases of parts, tools, and equipment.Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.Compliance & SafetyEnsure equipment and operations comply with OSHA and applicable state and federal regulations.Investigate equipment failures, incidents, and safety concerns.Implement and maintain safety procedures and documentation.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceAssociate degree in Maintenance Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience5-10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferredTechnical SkillsStrong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertiseExperience maintaining PLC-controlled machineryKnowledge of packaging equipment, conveyors, and material handling systems preferredExperience with maintenance management systems or purchasing systemsAdditional SkillsStrong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesProject management and planning experienceAbility to lead teams and drive continuous improvementStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferredBilingual English/SpanishExperience in manufacturing environments such as packaging, agriculture products, or industrial productionPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facilityOccasionally lift up to 65 poundsAbility to work around machinery, noise, and varying environmental conditions
