Limited temporary housing at The School at Springbrook may be available upon signed agreement.\r\nPrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder leadership of the classroom teacher, provide direct care and supervision of 5-22 year old students in a residential school setting.\r\nDemonstrate an awareness of the daily classroom schedule and specific assignments.\r\nWork as collaborative team member, assisting other staff in assigned classroom and throughout the building.\r\nDemonstrate an understanding of basic learning philosophies and expectations in the classroom.\r\nPromote a positive, nurturing environment for students.\r\nFacilitate child involvement in play, assigned therapies, and classroom activities.\r\nAssist students with activities of daily living, behavior management & support, and goal acquisition.\r\nImplement Individualized Education Program (IEP) in addition to other service plans and record daily data according to classroom needs.\r\nWork cooperatively with other staff to promote open communication and teamwork.\r\nParticipate in weekly professional development activities and assignments\r\nComplete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.\r\nQualifications, Skills and Knowledge RequirementsMust be a currently enrolled college student in good standing.\r\nExperience working with children preferred.\r\nDemonstrate professional verbal and written communication skills.\r\nMust be able to lift 50 lbs. independently and assist in lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs.\r\nMust successfully complete an on-line training program at Springbrook in areas including but not limited to: Corporate Compliance, HIPPA & Confidentiality, Fire Safety, Universal Precautions/Enhancements, Student rights, Violence prevention, and Choking prevention.\r\nPlease include a statement of interest with your resume, a paragraph or two outlining your interest in the program along with your career goals.\r\nSpringbrook is an equal opportunity employer.
