(MTSI) is seeking a T-6 Instructor Pilot, Part-time/Variable to support our team at Edwards AFB, CA.\n\nServe as Pilot-In-Command on single or multiple aircraft platform types to include the T-6 at Edwards AFB and other CONUS locations. Plan, coordinate, and conduct chase, ferry, and support of production and non-production aircraft. Create procedures and processes for MTSI operations and test support documentation. Ensure safety of flight and positive communications with external agencies based on real-time operations considerations.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nFunctions as Pilot-in-Command and supervises all flight air crew members. Performs aircrew duties per aircraft flight manuals.\n\nCommunicates flight details and conducts pre- and post-flight briefings.\n\nVerifies weight & balance specifications. Determines adequate aircraft performance for all phases of flight.\n\nPerforms as a member of an integrated team to ensure safe and efficient operation of the aircraft(s) by adhering to the principles of crew resource management and company/regulatory guidance.\n\nPlan and conduct inflight pilot duties of production aircraft. Direct and execute required maneuvers to verify system configuration, aircraft navigation and performance.\n\nValidates aircraft operation and configuration to meet approved production flight test requirements.\n\nPerforms instructor pilot duties. Instructs pilots during upgrade, recurrent and transition training, and TPS Qual Evaluations.\n\nMust have the ability and willingness to work with irregular hours and workdays.\n\nRequired\n\nGraduate of a military Test Pilot School (TPS) OR could obtain a Non-TPS Approval per DCMA 8210.1D.\n\nPrevious experience acting as a T-6 Instructor Pilot\n\nMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience\n\nJob requires FAA commercial and flight instructor certificates (SE Land) with the appropriate endorsements.\n\nMinimum of FAA Class II medical certificate.\n\n1,500 hours total flight time\n\nMaturity and professionalism to interface with a team of discipline engineers in Mission Control Room.\n\nWork well in either a team environment or independently.\n\nPosition requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers' requirements and needs.\n\nMulti-engine, instrument, and/or ATP FAA pilot ratings\n\nMinimum of 100 flight hours in turbine/turboprop aircraft.\n\nEducation Requirements\nBachelor's degree is desired.\n\nClearance Requirements\nClearance preferred\n\nTravel\nApproximately 10 - 25% travel may be required.\n\nU.S. Citizenship is required.\n\nPay range for this position in California is $100.00 per hour to $115.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
