What we need is a leader with the entrepreneurial drive to grow it from the ground up.Services IncludeRobotic mowing programsLandscape plant maintenance (personal gardener-style service)Annual color installation and careLeaf removal (seasonal)Additional residential maintenance services as the department growsYou’ll partner closely with the VP of Innovation to continue refining processes, build out the team, and aggressively grow the customer base. In the near term, you may also assist with sales as the department establishes its full stride.What You’ll Build & OwnDesign and refine operational processes Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team as the department scalesEstablish financial goals aligned with company strategy and manage P&L accountabilityDrive customer acquisition and retention — assist with sales in the interim as neededOversee day-to-day field operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and safetyDevelop and maintain client relationshipsPartner with marketing, HR, and safety teams to support department growthCollaborate with other department managers on labor sharing and strategic initiativesLead team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluationsMonitor NPS scores and other customer satisfaction metrics; drive improvementThe Growth StoryThe KC market is wide open. You don’t need every answer on day one — but you know how to find them. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, energized by growth, and skilled at developing people. You hold yourself and your team accountable, but you lead with coaching first.RequirementsBachelor’s degree OR 8+ years of green industry experience (4 of those years in management)Valid Driver’s License and DOT CertificateState-issued pesticide applicator license (Pest Control, Lawn & Ornamental) or ability to obtainStrong financial acumen — experience managing P&L and financial metricsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft and Google software platformsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-roundAbility to lift 50 lbs; walk/push/pull up to 3+ miles per day as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience launching or scaling a new business unit, division, or service lineBackground in residential maintenance, horticulture, or LPM practicesExperience with GGOB (Great Game of Business) or open-book management principlesDemonstrated success in sales, business development, or client retentionFamiliarity with robotic mowing systems or emerging turf technologiesCompensation & BenefitsRyan Lawn & Tree offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
