Production Technician
Job Summary
The Production Technician/Chemical Blender must adhere to strict QA/QC
procedures as well as health and safety guidelines while performing tasks for the
purposes of following repeatable processes for product stocking and order
fulfillment. This person is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working area and
ensuring that instrumentation, supplies, and safety equipment are utilized properly.
This role is responsible for the safe and accurate handling and combining of
chemical products and equipment needed to complete those tasks; this person is
also responsible for completing paperwork related to the build assembly for the
product. The Production Technician/Chemical Blender will act as a production floater
and serve as a backup for the IX Technician as needed.
Essential Functions:
·Blend liquid and dry chemicals according to specification to build inventory
·Pull from inventory to fill orders and properly prepare the order for shipment
·Load orders on trucks for delivery
·Unload stock material from trucks for incoming receipt
·Follow chemical blending, transfer, and handling processes and procedures
·Execute timely completion of stock requirements
·Follows proper documentation requirements
·Ensures timely completion of product orders
·Ensures quality and professional appearance of products upon shipping
·Operates forklift machinery and other machinery necessary for transporting,
receiving, and handling chemicals and vessels.
·Participate on the Spill Response team (optional). This task requires
additional, specialized training provided by the company.
·WWT operator, general cleanup for safety, floating coverage and assistance
for Chemical Blenders and IX Technicians
·Serve as back up for the IX Technician and build assembles as needed
·Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in activities
such as: attending educational workshops, obtaining certification(s),
participating in company organized events, reviewing professional
publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional
societies.

Training, Education, and Experience:
·Required: 1 year experience in a production environment
·Required: High school diploma or equivalent
·Experience working with or around chemicals (preferred)
·Previous experience blending chemicals or compounds (preferred)
·Preferred: Previous training in chemical handling and chemical transportation
safety, hazards analysis/identification, hazards communication, ergonomics,
forklift, heat illness prevention, personal protective equipment (PPE),
electrical safety
Special Requirements:
This position requires the use of personal protective equipment including but not
necessarily limited to eye protection and steel toe boots. This position is provided
with a uniform.
Some tasks require the use of a respirator; therefore, this position requires the
employees to pass and maintain a medical clearance accordingly. Further, the
employee in this position must always remain clean shaven on the face to ensure
their safety, as dictated by the ProChem Respiratory Protection Program.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
·The noise level in the work environment is moderate and may sometimes
require protective gear.
·This position requires work in a variety of conditions, including both indoors
and outdoor activities during a variety of weather conditions. The individual
will be exposed to noise from machinery and a variety of odors. Work hours
may vary and overtime hours will be required based upon the needs of the
company.
·This position requires the individual to work with hazardous chemicals and
compounds.
·It may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
·The position requires moderate activity with walking, bending, stooping,
lifting, and ladder work. Individuals in this position will be working around
electricity, water, plumbing equipment, and a variety of chemicals used
within the wastewater treatment systems.
·This position requires the use of machinery such as a forklift, pumps, hoists,
agitators, and so forth.
·This position may require flexibility in work hours, vacation, and other
schedule considerations in order to successfully support company needs.
